Honeymoon - Off The Boat

Here we are... about to get off the boat at our first stop. Let's go explore!
First stop: Villefranche, France. Yes, the streets were more like stairs. Not a great place to drive a manual. We found a bus stop and figured out how to get to Nice so we could find a beach. I couldn't help but get some french fries in France. So authentic! :-) Just like their authentic sandy beaches. Any idea where the boat is from here?
Next we stopped at the Santa Maria Cathedral. Oh wait!!! What's that in the background... IT'S KITTY!!! (and some tower) Ah yes... back to the cathedral. Here is the inside!
And here is the inside of the baptista that is in the Pisa complex.
And for some classic poses before we move on to the next stop.

Here is the bus tour from Civitavecchia to ROME!!!

Welcome to ROMA!!!

Inside the Roman Coliseum.

Walking around the Forum.

Arch of CostantineI think the statue-making company made a pretty penny when the vatican was built....so did the clown costume company.
Tradition has it that if you toss a coin over your shoulder and into the Trevi Fountain that you will return to Rome. Ciao for now!
Next stop... Pompei !!
Yes, we are casualy walking the streets of a city that was destroyed in 79 A.D. This 2000 year old door mat translates to "Welcome my Guest." They sure don't make door mat's like they used to.

Checking out the 2000 year old theater.
This was their fast food.
Our next stop was Palermo, Sicily.
Time for a little Italian Shopping!

Goodbye Italy :-( See you soon!

Honeymoon - On The Boat

Kitty and I invite you to look at some of our pictures from our honeymoon! I'm sure this site will be a work in progress for the next week. Like always, we'll talk to you about the pictures next time we talk on the phone... because we can now! So, "Welcome Aboard!"
We arrived in Spain and were not nearly as shocked as when we went to Paris for our engagement. The high school and college Spanish really helped... but it was still entertaining, as always. Just ask about the ship that is "Mucho Grande"

We got on the boat and practiced getting to our abandon ship positions... in case we hit an iceberg!
This was an "Adult Only" pool and spa area with Roman pillars and statues. I guess we are "adults" now. :-) The fact that this was a Mediterranean cruise sounded sort of posh. But, sometimes we were reminded it was also a European cruise... many laughs! Ask us about "Panda."

Yes, there was 6 Hot Tubs. Check out the Roman statue in the spa! Ask us about the Newlywed game. There's just too much to write about. This is the move that made us famous!
Yes... We won!
One of his tricks was to balance himself on a wine bottle, on a golf ball, on another wine bottle, on the table.

This was the street in the middle of the boat.

We had multiple "Street Parades," "Street Parties," and "Street Dancing.

It's a bat made out of towels!

And a monkey!

And a frog!

And an elephant!

My favorite show was the ice skating show... but we couldn't take pictures during it.

We started most mornings with room service as our wake up call.

Then sometimes we would have a light brunch :-) before...
...we went up on the pool deck and had a late lunch.
We sat with a couple from Holland and two couples from Estonia. That was kind of interesting because English wasn't any one's first language... except us! This is a picture of the waiters singing to us.
We would of course finish up the night with a little midnight buffet.
On the last night the ship's captain sang us a song.
All in all, it was a good little boat.
